Stockport County have snapped up goalkeeper Lewis King and are closing in on a move for midfielder Alex Meaney.

King, who joined the Hatters on loan from Sunderland last season, had signed on non-contract terms at Edgeley Park after leaving the Mackems to provide competition for Ian Ormoson, but has now put pen to paper on a short-term deal which will keep him at the club until January. Meaney is also expected to join Jim Gannon's side after impressing in pre-season and scoring a hat-trick in a Development Squad win at Ilkeston last week. The young midfielder is a product of the Myerscough College Football Academy, whose recent graduates to also play for County include Anthony Pilkington and current players Craig Hobson, Danny Hattersley and Alex Kenyon. Meaney's transfer to Edgeley Park is subject to approval but the club expect to complete the move shortly having announced it on their official website.
