Tamworth captain Richard Tait has apologised to the club's fans after three defeats in just over a week.
The Lambs began the new Conference season in promising fashion, winning three and drawing one as they registered 10 points from their opening four games.
However, a Bank Holiday defeat by Wrexham started a disappointing sequence. Further losses at Braintree and Mansfield followed to hand Tamworth a reality check.
Tait felt his side were hard done by at Mansfield on Tuesday but admitted the Reds were well below par last weekend.
"I have to apologise to the Tamworth fans for Saturday and the result and performance against Braintree, we were just not at the races and I have to say sorry for that," he said.
"We really do think we should be beating teams like Braintree if we want to be up there this season, but for whatever reason we were just not there for it."
Tamworth will look to get back on track when they entertain Barrow on Saturday.
