AFC Telford United boss Andy Sinton has moved to bolster his injury-hit squad by signing experienced defender Liam Chilvers.
The 31-year-old has signed a short-term deal with the Conference club after he was released by League One side Notts County in the summer and was unable to secure a deal with either Tranmere Rovers or Port Vale. With Chris Blackburn, Michael Briscoe, Ryan Valentine and Jordan Rose all struggling with injury, and Dan Preston currently suspended, Chilvers could be thrust straight into first-team action. Commenting on his move to Telford, Chilvers told BBC Radio Shropshire: "It's a good opportunity for me, it has been really hard. You start off trying to be optimistic but, the longer discussions go on at various clubs, you just know it's not going to happen."
