Town complete triple swoop

Newly-promoted Nuneaton Town have captured three new players for their upcoming Blue Square Bet Premier campaign.

Nuneaton were promoted from the Conference North through the play-offs and are now building a squad for next season having already completed a move for former Telford midfielder Jon Adams. He will be joined by Hinckley United striker Danny Newton, Boston midfielder Danny Sleath and Corby defender Delroy Gordon at the Triton Showers Community Arena for the 2012-13 campaign. Newton, who scored against Nuneaton when the sides met on Boxing Day in 2011, and Gordon were each named Player of the Year for their respective clubs last season while Sleath leaves the Pilgrims after a three-year spell in which he scored 19 goals. Town boss Kevin Wilkin now hopes his summer business can provide enough to help Nuneaton compete in the Blue Square Bet Premier and retain their status in the division.
