Wilkin hopes Burge will stay
Blue Square Premiership,
Nuneaton Town boss Kevin Wilkin is keeping his fingers crossed that Coventry do not recall goalkeeper Lee Burge after just one game.
Burge joined the Boro on a one-month loan deal earlier this week but his future at the Warwickshire club is now in doubt after an injury to Sky Blues' keeper Joe Murphy.
Murphy picked up a hamstring injury in Coventry's 3-0 Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat to Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday night and they are waiting to see the extent of the damage to his leg before making a decision on whether to bring Burge back to the Ricoh Arena.
Wilkin hopes that it is good news for Murphy and, in turn, Nuneaton, as he feels the youngster did well despite conceding three goals in the 3-2 to Stockport County last Saturday.
I'm just hopeful the injury to Joe Murphy isn't too bad and Lee stays with us," he said. "He's Coventry's player though and if they decided to recall him there's not a lot we can do.
"I felt he did well in his debut for us. I certainly wouldn't blame him for any of the three goals. He didn't get that much protection in front of him."
