Wrexham blocked an approach from Bury to speak to player-boss Andy Morrell earlier this month, according to club supremo Don Bircham.

Morrell, 37, was a target for the Bury vacancy after Richie Barker left for Crawley but Bircham insists the Dragons boss, who is contracted until 2014, is going nowhere.
"Bury asked our permission to speak to Andy and we said no," Bircham told the Leader. "Myself and (director) Barry Horne spoke to Andy and he said he was not at all interested - the conversation lasted all of about three minutes.
"We said Bury had approached us. We were not letting them talk to him, he is contracted here and we were delighted with his response.
"Andy said he has got a big job to do here and wants to manage Wrexham, and also wants to continue playing which was not an option at Bury.
"We were delighted Andy felt the same as us and will continue to work hard to get Wrexham back to where we belong."
Morrell was appointed Wrexham manager in September 2011 after guiding the team to seven wins out of nine as caretaker manager and led them to a second place finish in the Conference National, on a club record 98 points.
