Bolton welcome returning striker
Bolton Wanderers, 12:56, October 28, 2009 ,
Bolton have been boosted by the news Johan Elmander has recovered from a hamstring problem and is set to start against Chelsea.
The Trotters travel to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea in the Carling Cup on Wednesday night and punters looking to use their free bet will no doubt have taken note of Gary Megson's comments that he is going to field a strong side to try and steer Wanderers into the quarter-finals.
There are no fresh injury worries for the club and Elmander's return means that Megson has a fully fit squad to choose from, with the striker set to go straight into the side.
Chelsea do have a number of players ruled out through injury but Carlo Ancelotti is also taking the opportunity to rest some of his key players, with John Terry, Nicolas Anelka and Petr Cech set to miss out.
The two sides meet again on Saturday in the Premier League, this time at the Reebok, and Megson insists tonight's match will have no impact on the game at the weekend.
"It won't make any difference at all - it is not part of that preparation and it will have absolutely no bearing on the game on Saturday," Megson said.
"I think if either team was using this as preparation it would demean the Carling Cup a little bit. We want to go through, make no mistake about it, and I know Carlo will want to go through."
