Bolton boss Owen Coyle insists he will have no problem in handing Josh Vela a starting spot against West Brom on Sunday.
The midfielder, a product of the Wanderers academy, came off the bench in the loss against Spurs last time out and could find himself handed a place in the starting line-up with the Baggies due to an injury crisis in the Bolton midfield.
Darren Pratley is ruled out through illness and Nigel Reo-Coker is struggling with a leg injury, meaning Coyle could be forced to hand Vela a start in the crucial league fixture as Bolton continue their battle against relegation.
The Bolton boss remains convinced Vela can handle the pressure and has backed the 18-year-old to impress if he is given a chance on Sunday.
"Josh is going to be a top, top player and if it comes about that he needs to start the game, then I've no problem with that," Coyle told the Bolton News. "We have injuries but that's how this season has gone for us. We can't sit here and complain about that now because whatever has happened to us has happened. Our focus is on Sunday, and Sunday only."
