Kevin Davies has described reports suggesting he could quit Bolton for title-chasers Chelsea in January as "fun and games".
Reports over the festive period have led to suggestions Reebok favourite Davies will swap a potential relegation scrap for a title challenge with the west Londoners when the transfer window reopens.
Davies has taken the speculation with a pinch of salt and says he is fully committed to manager Gary Megson.
"It was a shock," Davies told the Manchester Evening News. "The missus said to get the paper. You never know what you might find. I was pleased to see the story was at the back.
"January is a time when all the fun and games begin. And it's just paper talk.
"Besides house prices are too expensive in Kensington."
The burly striker believes it is vital manager Megson is given the necessary backing to strengthen his Wanderers squad to avoid another basement battle.
"The players would like to see two, maybe three players come in," he added.
"The second half of the season is going to be tough and we need everyone we can get.
"We want to climb the table and not be looking over our shoulders."
