Denilson gets Trotters chance

Bolton Wanderers, 18:59, January 6, 2009 ,

Bolton have handed a trial to the world's former most expensive player, Denilson, with a view to a permanent deal.

Boss Gary Megson will run the rule over the 31-year-old former Brazil and Real Betis midfielder, who is available on a free transfer after being released by Palmeiras, to see whether he is capable of doing a job in the Premier League.
Denilson, who commanded a transfer fee of £21.5million when he moved to Spanish club Betis from Sao Paulo in 1998, spent seven seasons in the Primera Liga before enjoying spells at clubs like Al Nasr and FC Dallas.
He picked up 68 caps for his country and was part of the Brazil squad which won the 2002 World Cup.
