Chris Eagles has eased fears the hamstring injury he suffered on Tuesday is serious and he is hopeful of facing Sunderland.
Eagles was forced to limp off for the final minutes of the Trotters' 2-1 win at Aston Villa with a slight hamstring strain and there were fears he could miss this weekend's trip to the Stadium of Light.
However, it appears the midfielder was only taken off as a precaution and, although he will get the injury looked at, he is expecting to be available for Saturday.
He told the club's website: "I felt my hamstring in the first half and then later on in the second half, when I went down the wing and crossed it for Kevin Davies, it seemed to lock up on me. I will go and see the physios but hopefully it will be fine."
