Bolton striker Johan Elmander could be out for up to a month after injuring his hamstring on reserve team duty.
The Swedish forward limped off on Monday night as the Wanderers saw off Lancashire rivals Wigan 3-0 in a reserve team fixture.
Elmander has seen his Bolton career blighted by injury and this latest set-back may force him to miss the Wanderers' home fixtures against Spurs, Everton and Chelsea as well as the trip to Old Trafford to face reigning champions Manchester United.
The 28-year-old's place in the Bolton starting line-up has come under threat in recent weeks, he was an unused substitute in the 2-1 victory over Birmingham City at the weekend as boss Gary Megson opted to start with on-loan frontman Ivan Klasnic, while he only appeared as a late addition in the Carling Cup victory over West Ham.
