Gary Cahill says his disallowed goal against Liverpool should have stood and believes the decision to rule it out cost Bolton dear.
Bolton were trailing 1-0 going into first-half stoppage time when Cahill headed home from Gavin McCann's corner, but referee Rob Styles ruled it out after Kevin Nolan was adjudged to have obstructed Reds keeper Pepe Reina.
The decision angered the Trotters and Cahill says he still believes he scored a perfectly good goal.
"The goal should have stood. I've seen it and it's as simple as that," he told the club's website. "We would have gone into half-time with the score at 1-1, but for some reason at the moment we don't seem to be getting the rub of the green.
"From what I could see, we lined up with Kevin Davies at the front post, myself at the back and Kevin Nolan stood just in front of the goalkeeper.
"The goalkeeper has pushed him in the back once so he has gone back to stand in his position with his arms by his side and the ball has come into the box and the goalkeeper has pushed him in the back again and held his shirt.
"I've headed the ball in, so where the foul is in that, I do not know.
"If we had gone in to half-time with the score at 1-1 and we had come out for the second half with our tails up then who knows? But like I said, I'm baffled by the decision."
