Iceman eyes top 10 hit

Bolton Wanderers, 13:48, December 2, 2009 ,

Bolton defender Gretar Steinsson believes the club can finish in the top 10 this season despite their position in the bottom three.

The Iceland international made his first start of the season in the Wanderers' 1-1 draw with Fulham at the weekend and marked his first starting appearance with an impressive display.
The point against Fulham signaled the end of a torrid run for the Lancashire outfit, who had lost their previous four games conceding 15 and scoring just once along the way.
However, Steinsson is confident Bolton can survive the drop and believes the team is good enough to finish in the top 10 at the end of the season.
"I have got great belief in the team and I know we will get points and steer clear," he told Sky Sports News.
"Our aim is to go as high as possible and in the top 10 if possible.
"We need to go one game at a time and three points at a time and see how far we can go."
Bolton, who lie 18th in the table, face a trip to 17th placed Wolves at the weekend, with under-fire boss Gary Megson in desperate need of a win away from home as the Bolton faithful continue to criticise and increase the pressure on the former West Brom and Nottingham Forest boss.
