Bolton are being linked with a move for Republic of Ireland international Darren O'Dea as doubts surround the future of Zat Knight.
Wanderers are still waiting for a decision from Knight as to whether he will pen a new deal on reduced terms and boss Owen Coyle is looking at alternatives should he turn it down. Following the long-term injury to David Wheater, Coyle will still need another central defender even if Knight stays, and O'Dea is reported to be on his list of targets. The 25-year-old is available on a free transfer following his release from Celtic and a host of Championship clubs including Wanderers and Burnley are being linked. O'Dea is currently with the Republic of Ireland squad preparing for Euro2012 but is expected to make a decision once the tournament is over.
