Bolton are in the hunt for Deportivo La Coruna midfielder Julian De Guzman, who is ready to quit Spain.
Wanderers boss Gary Megson has confirmed he wants to strengthen his squad in January and midfield is an area that is in need of some attention following the departure of several players in the summer.
Megson is known to be keen on Fulham's Jimmy Bullard but now it looks as though he is ready to turn his attentions to Depor's Canadian international De Guzman.
The midfielder has been the subject of racial abuse in La Liga and is ready to walk away next summer when he will be out of contract and available on a free transfer.
De Guzman could leave before then and Megson could make a £2million bid in an effort to push through a deal in January.
