Megson continues war of words with supporters

Gary Megson says Bolton supporters need to rein in their expectations and stand by the players despite their recent dip in form.
The Trotters faithful made their feelings known following Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Fulham at the Reebok Stadium and whilst Megson conceded the side's performance wasn't good enough he felt the fans should have stood by the players more.
"You listen to the reaction of people around here and you would think you had taken over Real Madrid, and there had never been a poor performance," he told the Bolton News. "That's not the case.
"We've been beaten 3-1 and there's been a reaction to individual players from the crowd.
"Some of the players have reacted to it as well. We'll have to try and sort it out.
"We'll get battered by our own supporters and in the press, which is understandable, but you can't expect anything different unless you're winning games and playing well and we did neither."
