Mills on fast forward

Bolton defender Matt Mills wants to leave his experience at Leicester in the past, but is in the dark as to why he fell out of favour.
Mills was a big-money recruit by then-Foxes boss Sven-Goran Eriksson last summer and installed as club captain. But the relationship between Mills and Eriksson's successor Pearson broke down, leaving the 25-year-old former Reading centre-back frozen out of the first team picture in the closing months of the campaign and paving the way for his move to Wanderers on a three-year deal this week. "It was a mystery really," he said of his exclusion at the King Power Stadium. "Obviously, with Sven signing me last season it was an opportunity where I felt Leicester were trying to make that big push for the Premier League. "I thought they started off well and the way it finished is disappointing, but I'm not really one to look at things that go on in the past. "I'm looking forward to this season now. I think it's one of the most exciting times in my career, certainly, so I'm very much looking forward to that."
