Reds winger linked with move

Bolton are being linked with a £4.5million swoop for Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant, who could be on the move in January.

Pennant is struggling to earn first-team football at Anfield and although he has pledged his future to the Reds in the past, it is thought he is now becoming frustrated with life on the bench.

The winger did not even figure against Tottenham in the Carling Cup on Wednesday night and it looks as though the former Arsenal man is heading for the exit door.

Bolton are now reported to be showing an interest after Gary Megson confirmed he wants to add more quality in January and a £4.5million bid could be in the offing.

Pennant turned down a move to Stoke in the summer, while Blackburn Rovers are also known to be interested as they still haven't replaced David Bentley, who joined Tottenham.
