Phil Parkinson was hugely impressed with Brdaford's opening day performance - a 1-0 win at Notts County in the first round of the cup.
County looked far from ready for competitive action as a stunning strike from James Hanson in extra-time sent the Bantams through to the second round.
Parkinson said: "It was a tough game - Notts County are a good side and have a good squad this season and I thought the lads stuck to the jobs we asked them to do very well and we always looked dangerous going forward.
"Matt Duke was terrific. He made some important saves, particularly just before the break when we were really just waiting for the half to end. But I thought the whole back four were excellent and when we went forward the attacking players really threatened every time.
"Ideally you would want the game to be done inside the 90 minutes but the main positive to take from the game today was how fit the boys looked, which showed pre-season has gone well.
"It's always good to win and winning the first game of the season is massive. Getting out of this league is the main aim this season but winning breeds confidence whatever the competition and understanding what it takes to win can only help going forward."
