Ground award for Seagulls

England can boast some success in Europe this season even if Chelsea do not win the Champions League on Saturday.

Championship side Brighton have won the New Venue award at the Stadium Business awards in Turin for their Amex Stadium, which opened at the start of the season The all-conquering Seagulls saw off eight other venues including the Livestrong Sporting Park in Kansas, Juventus' new home in Turin and two of the Polish stadiums hosting this summer's European Championship. Director Martin Perry told the club's website: "We were up against some very strong opposition so to win this award is a remarkable achievement and we can all be very proud."
