Poyet hopeful over Spanish star

Brighton manager Gus Poyet is optimistic he can keep Spanish playmaker Vicente Rodriguez at the club.

The former Valencia midfielder, who will be out of contract at the end of the season, put in another classy display in the 1-1 draw with Birmingham. Nathan Redmond put the visitors ahead but Ashley Barnes snatched a point for Brighton. And Poyet said: "It won't be difficult to keep Vicente as long as we get a team he deserves. He is a joy to watch. "There is a big opportunity and we will decide on it together. We'll follow my line and the way I like to treat players."
