Poyet proud of Seagulls

Brighton manager Gus Poyet has declared himself "proud" of his side's achievements this season.

The Seagulls, promoted from League One last term, have enjoyed a successful first campaign back in the Championship which saw them challenging for the play-offs until the last couple of weeks. "I am delighted with the team and I am proud of what we have achieved this season," said Poyet. "My aim was to become a competitive Championship team and now we are. It doesn't matter how you play but we are a competitive team in this league. "Now we have a bit more Championship experience and I want to go a step forward next season."
