Bristol City boss Gary Johnson has set his side the target of making the top six by Christmas in order to mount another promotion push.
The Robins were there or thereabouts for the entire campaign last time around only to slip up to Hull in the play-off final at Wembley.
But Johnson wants to make another serious crack at securing top-flight football after confirming: "It is a much harder league this year but our dream is to play in the Premier League.
"We came agonisingly close last season and hopefully this year we can go just as close if not closer.
"It is a tight division and you only need to win a couple of games to be right up there so we need to go on a good run."
Johnson added: "My aim is to be in the top six by Christmas and then we will know which other teams we are competing with."
