Defensive boost for Robins
Bristol City, 19:30, January 21, 2009 ,
Bristol City say Jamie McCombe's operation has gone well and he should be back playing in around three weeks' time.
The Robins defender was forced to undergo surgery in a bid to sort out a pelvis and back injury and he will now face a spell on the sidelines as he recovers.
Club physio Nick Dawes has revealed the operation was "a success" and he expects the City player to be back in contention in less than a month.
"Jamie went in for surgery late last night (Tuesday) and it seemed to go fine," Dawes told the club's website.
"We have spoke to the consultant and he said the surgery was a success. Jamie's rehabilitation begins now and, as the manager has already said, he should be back in around three weeks' time."
