Johnson fears for midfield ace

Bristol City, 13:40, March 1, 2010 ,

Midfielder Marvin Elliott could be out for six weeks after missing Bristol City's 0-0 draw against Ipswich with a knee injury.

Robins boss Gary Johnson revealed that Elliott was missing from the goalless encounter at Portman Road due to a suspected torn ligament and the former Millwall man will visit a specialist on Monday to see if he requires any surgery.
Johnson told the Evening Post: "I don't think it is a slight injury. I think it is quite a problem. I think it is anything between two and six weeks depending on what the specialist says on Monday.
"He will look at the scan and if the scan shows he has got some ligament damage in his knee, then that is a problem to him and to us because we need all our other players fit."
In Elliott and Evander Sno's absence Lee Johnson and Paul Hartley linked up in the middle of the park against Ipswich and Johnson was delighted with the way they played.
He added: "I was really pleased with Lee and Harts because they have both been out for quite a few days, and you could see after an hour they had suddenly lost all their energy because they were only drinking Lucozade for four days.
"Jamal Campbell-Ryce wasn't ready either - he has only trained once.
"Gavin (Williams) hasn't played enough games either, but they did their job for as long as they could."
