Race on for striker

Bristol City, 10:14, April 29, 2010 ,

Midlands rivals Wolves and West Brom are said to be battling it out for the services of Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard.

Both clubs will be in the Premier League next season following Wolves' successful battle against the drop and West Brom's successful promotion campaign, and both have targeted Maynard, who has caught the eye for the Robins this season.
Temporary City boss Keith Millen, though, remains confident his star striker will be at Ashton Gate next season despite the interest in the former Crewe Alexandra player.
Wolves have been linked with a £3million move for Maynard but when quizzed on Wolves' interest, Millen said: "It's all news to me,
"It would take a lot more money than that for us to even consider selling Nicky."
The 23-year-old forward has bagged 20 goals this season and is likely to attract interest over the summer, although City will demand a much higher fee than the £3million that has been suggested.
