Robins boss fuming at Blues defeat

Bristol City, 17:02, September 17, 2008

Gary Johnson was not happy with the lack of chances his side created following Bristol City's 2-1 defeat to Birmingham at Ashton Gate.

The Robins boss watched his side go two-down in a disappointing first half to a Louis Carey own goal and a Cameron Jerome effort. Despite improving after the break they only managed to pull one back 11 minutes from time with substitute Lee Trundle scoring from near the half way line after picking up Blues keeper Maik Taylor's attempted clearance.

Johnson kept his players locked in the dressing-room for 45 minutes after the game and later said: "We were not good enough with our final ball or our movement inside the penalty area. That goes for everyone, not just the strikers.

"I thought between the two penalty boxes we played very well. But that's no use if you don't create chances.

"Lee Trundle has scored an amazing goal, but you shouldn't have to net from 45 yards in a home game.

"I've told the lads we will be working very hard between now and Saturday's home game with Doncaster."
