Robins boss keen to keep hold of star names

Bristol City, 14:03, January 6, 2009 ,

Bristol City chairman Steve Lansdown has issued a 'hands-off' warning to all clubs over the sides top players.

A number of Robins players have been linked with a move away from Ashton Gate since the January transfer window opened but Lansdown has instead claimed that the club will looking to strengthen for the Championship run-in.
Lansdown is adamant that no first team regulars will go on the cheap and that he would only begin to consider any offers should they be huge.
"If other clubs think they can come in and buy up our players in January they had better think again. Of course, if someone was to come in with a massive offer, then we would look at it carefully. But we're not in a position where we have to sell and we want to improve our squad, not see it reduced," Lansdown told the Bristol Evening Post.
"There is always going to be speculation at this time of year. It's inevitable when clubs are restricted to doing business in such a short space of time.
"But I can say quite categorically, that we have not received any offers for any of our players."
