Rovers eye full-time Brooker deal

Bristol City, 17:55, December 2, 2008 ,

Doncaster boss Sean O'Driscoll has revealed that he would like to turn Bristol City striker Steve Brooker's loan into a permanent deal.

The 27-year-old has impressed the Rovers boss in the short time he has spent at the Keepmoat Stadium and scored on his debut as a second half substitute in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Watford. And O'Driscoll says he will look to keep Brooker at the club on a full-time basis in the January transfer window.
"We've spoken to Bristol City and they are keen to do something. He's out of contract at the end of the season so he becomes a free transfer," O'Driscoll told the club's website.
"The current move suits Steve - his family is from Yorkshire and we needed a striker so all parties can benefit from it.
"It's a good start for him, he's keen to play some football and his overall play is good. He is an intelligent footballer and I'm sure he will be disappointed to go away from his loan spell with, at least, half a dozen goals in his locker.
"He has come and made an impact. Not only that I think that players are the best judge of other players and I think they already know what a good player he is."
