Star closer to return

Bristol City, 15:37, September 2, 2008

Marvin Elliott is close to full fitness and could play for the Bristol City's reserve team game against Southampton on Tuesday.

The Robins midfielder is making a good recovery from a knee injury, which has stopped him from featuring so far this season, but a first-team return is thought to be close.

City will welcome the upcoming two week international break, with the Ashton Gate treatment room full ahead of next weekend's trip to Wales to face Cardiff.

Cole Skuse (foot) and Jamie McAllister (shin) limped out of Saturday's game with QPR and are doubts, while Jamie McCombe (fractured cheekbone), Christian Ribeiro (knee) and Scott Murray (broken wrist) are also still receiving treatment.
