U's exit on cards for Yeates
Bristol City, 18:43, June 15, 2009 ,
Colchester boss Paul Lambert has admitted Bristol City target Mark Yeates could leave the League One side this summer.
The 24-year-old has attracted plenty of attention from around the Championship with the Robins among a clutch of clubs interested.
Middlesbrough, Crystal Palace and Sheffield United are all also watching the situation and, while Lambert would prefer to keep the highly-rated winger, he admits a tempting cash offer could force his hand to sell.
"I'd like to hold onto Mark, he's an exciting player, but in the end money will decide what happens," said Lambert.
"Players will have to go, because I want to bring others in.
"There is not the same money around as when this club was in the Championship, and I understand that."
He added: "I expect things to happen with Mark, if an offer comes in that is good for the club. He would definitely leave a hole. You never like to see your best players leave, but I'm trying to get a few more players in."
