Bristol Rovers manager Mark McGhee says he understands why winger Mustapha Carayol has delayed a decision over a new contract at the club.
Carayol, 22, joined the Pirates from Lincoln last summer for an undisclosed fee, scoring six goals in 35 appearances, and has been the subject of interest from Championship sides. McGhee told BBC Radio Bristol: "When a boy is presented with an opportunity that improves his prospects financially, you can understand him considering it. "If it's a choice between playing in League Two and the Championship, I know what I would do. "We'd love to keep Muzzy here but we've got to be fair to him as well. We respect his views in all of this but my first priority is Bristol Rovers." Barnsley had a bid for the Gambia-born wide man rejected in January and an unnamed Championship club had an offer turned down in May.
