Adler looking for recall
New Hamburg goalkeeper Rene Adler says he still harbours of ambitions of representing his country again.
The 27-year-old was widely expected to be Germany's number one at the 2010 World Cup but was sidelined ahead of the tournament and his replacement Manuel Neuer has now established himself as Die Mannschaft's undisputed first choice.
However, he is hoping that his move to the Imtech Arena will reignite his career and help him re-establish himself in the national team.
"I have enough ambition to think about playing for Germany again. I have to be successful at Hamburg first, though. Everything else will come automatically from there on," Adler said.
"There is a new beginning to everything. I'm a man who likes to think in the long term, rather than one who likes to change clubs every season. I came to Hamburg to be a part of a new team."
