Breitner blasts Dortmund
Bayern Munich legend Paul Breitner has hit out at the way Borussia Dortmund have played down their title chances.
The two-time reigning Bundesliga champions have spoken of their desire to progress in the Champions League following a disappointing campaign last term. Dortmund have suggested they will concentrate on making strides in Europe, to the detriment of their title bid. Breitner believes they have behaved disrespectfully. "It is childish. I am sure that Dortmund would rethink their stance very quickly if they got to hear what all the other sides thought. People, stop with this childishness, it's ridiculous!" he told Eurosport. "I expect that they [Dortmund] will still be involved in Europe in the second half of the season. Dortmund will not be able to bow out of the Champions League with a whimper this time." Breitner enjoyed two separate spells with Bayern between 1970-1974 and 1978-1983.
