Werder Bremen have confirmed a one-year loan deal for Bayern Munich striker Nils Petersen.
The 23-year-old rose to fame during his time with Energie Cottbus, where he scored 35 goals in 56 Bundesliga 2 matches, which led to his move to Bayern in the summer of 2011.
He made nine Bundesliga appearances, scoring twice, and four Champions League showings for Bayern but found first-team opportunities limited.
Petersen is set to undergo a medical later this week and will officially start training with Bremen on July 5th.
Bremen head coach Thomas Schaaf said: "He's a centre-forward who has already proven his propensity for scoring goals.
"We're delighted that he's joining us. We're convinced that he'll find excellent conditions here wherein he can continue to develop."
