Freiburg flop handed Rovers chance

Bundesliga side Freiburg have confirmed striker Garra Dembele is to have a trial with Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers.

The Mali international joined the Bundesliga side last summer but struggled to make an impact at the club and managed just one goal in 16 appearances.
Despite being under contract for another three years, Freiburg are happy for him to try his luck elsewhere and he is to undergo a trial at Rovers ahead of the new domestic campaign.
Blackburn boss Steve Kean has already made several signings this summer as he tries to build a squad capable of gaining automatic promotion back to the Premier League, with Danny Murphy and Nuno Gomes the two stand-out buys so far.
Dembele will be given the chance to impress over the next fortnight and, if he does well, may land a season-long loan move with a view to a permanent switch to Ewood Park.
