Hoffenheim sign Derdiyok
Hoffenheim have completed the signing of striker Eren Derdiyok from Bundesliga rivals Bayer Leverkusen on a four-year deal.
Derdiyok is the club's second signing in as many days after they signed goalkeeper Tim Wiese from Werder Bremen earlier in the week and manager Markus Babbel will hope the Swiss international will fill the void left by the sale of Vedad Ibisevic, who joined Stuttgart in January.
"Eren Derdiyok is a complete striker and he fits in perfectly with our concept," said Babbel. "I am delighted we have been able to convince him to come."
Derdiyok is relishing the challenge of playing for Hoffenheim next season, saying: "I am looking forward to represent Hoffenheim. There is a lot we are able to achieve in those next years.
"The manager (Markus Babbel) recently already mentioned that we are out to go for a berth in a European Cup competition. I am looking forward to help the club do so."
