Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp described his side's unbeaten run as "crazy" after they moved a step closer to the title.
Dortmund's 2-1 victory away at rivals Schalke on Saturday stretched their unbeaten Bundesliga run to 25 games - a new league record.
Klopp's side had to do it the hard way after falling behind to Jefferson Farfan's early strike. Lukasz Piszczek and Sebastian Kehl scored in either half to overturn the deficit and help open up a nine-point lead over Bayern Munich, a lead which was reduced by one point after Bayern could only manage a 0-0 draw at home to Mainz.
Klopp was delighted with Dortmund's incredible run but is not toasting a second successive title just yet.
"Twenty-five games? That's crazy! What we have done is unimaginable," he said.
"It (winning the league) is more likely with this success today. As long as we have no reason to, the champagne corks will not be popped just yet."
