Borussia Monchengladbach have entered the race to sign Olivier Giroud from Montpellier, who remains a top Arsenal target.

The Gunners were thought to have all but agreed a deal to sign the Montpellier striker for £12million, but now German side Monchengladbach are said to be keen on securing his services.
He scored 21 goals last season - the most in France - and the 25-year-old has been attracting attention from across Europe.
The club's sporting director, Max Eberl, says Gladbach are poised to make a move for Giroud but admits Arsenal remain the favourites to land him.
"We remain true to our policy that we do not throw our money out the window. The problem in our negotiations is that we are in competition with clubs like Arsenal and top clubs in Germany," Eberl said.
