Neuer determined to end trophy drought
Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer says Bayern Munich cannot afford to miss out on the Bundesliga title this season.
The Bavarians haven't lifted a trophy for two years, mainly thanks to the resurgence of Borussia Dortmund, who have won each of the last two league crowns and their misery was further compounded as they narrowly missed out on the Champions League in May.
Neuer says the continued disappointment has only inspired his side to prove their worth but admits there will be 'no excuses' if they fail to win the Bundesliga title for a third consecutive campaign.
"There can be no more excuses," Neuer said. "Right from the start, we want a show of strength. And we intend to be number one in Germany again."
