Pizarro rejoins Bayern
Experienced Peruvian striker Claudio Pizarro has rejoined Bayern Munich on a one-year deal from Bundesliga rivals Werder Bremen.
The 33-year-old enjoyed the best spell of his career at Bayern between 2001 and 2007 - hitting 71 league goals in 174 appearances.
A return to the club has long been touted and the transfer was completed following talks between the striker's agent Carlos Delgado and Bayern sporting director Christian Nerlinger on Friday.
"We are very happy that we were able to sign Claudio Pizarro, an internationally experienced and very prolific attacker," Nerlinger told Bayern's official website.
Pizarro joined Werder on loan in 2008 after a failed spell at Chelsea before signing on a permanent basis the following year.
With his contract at Werder expiring at the end of June, Pizarro has opted for a swansong at the Allianz Arena.
