Bolton deny Coyle move

Burnley, 12:14, February 23, 2009

Burnley fans will be delighted to hear that Bolton have described reports that Owen Coyle will take over from Gary Megson as 'rubbish'.

It had been reported over the weekend that Clarets boss Coyle was the man Bolton wanted to replace Megson, but the Trotters have refuted the claims and have described the report as "unfounded, wholly inaccurate and misleading speculation".
A club spokesman added: "It is just rubbish."
The Burnley boss, who has taken the side to the brink of the play-offs, a Carling Cup semi-final and good progress in the FA Cup, had a spell as a Bolton player in the mid 1990s and is well regarded at the club.
Burnley would fight tooth and nail to keep their manager should any side come calling but the links to Premiership clubs are a consequence of the progression he has made at Turf Moor.
