Burnley eye new wing target

Burnley, 15:52, July 1, 2010 ,

Burnley are said to be eyeing a move for Preston winger Ross Wallace ahead of the new season.

Burnley boss Brian Laws is understood to have switched his attention to the 25-year-old after being frustrated in his attempts to sign Hearts winger Andrew Driver.
Preston would be reluctant to lose Wallace who has impressed since first arriving at Deepdale on loan in 2008 and he would become Burnley's third signing of the summer following Chris Iwelumo and Dean Marney.
Meanwhile, Robbie Blake has spoken about his move from Turf Moor to link-up with former boss Owen Coyle at Bolton and revealed he will be willing Burnley to get promoted this season.
Blake has signed a one-year contract with Bolton and told the Lancashire Telegraph: "I got a call from Owen on Monday night about 10pm.
"He said he was looking to do something and could I go in with my agent the following morning.
"It was quite a shock.
"I'd actually been thinking of asking Simon Grayson if I could train with Leeds just to keep fit, because I knew everyone else was going to be going back and I only live 10 minutes away from their training ground."
He added: "With the gaffer (Coyle) if you are playing well you will stay in the team, so it's up to me to get in the team and show that.
"It was time for me to move on. It was one of those situations I had to weigh up and do the right thing for me.
"It was totally out of the blue.
"Hopefully the Burnley fans won't take too badly to me going to Bolton.
"The bottom line is I want Burnley to get promoted. I want the club to be successful.
"If Brian's the man to do that good luck to him, I hope he succeeds."
