Goals pledge from Nugent

Burnley, 09:28, February 3, 2010 ,

On loan striker David Nugent is determined to fire the goals for Burnley that will keep the Clarets in the Premiership.

The Portsmouth striker looked as though he was going to be stuck in limbo between Portsmouth and Burnley as the two clubs tried to thrash out a deal.
They finally reached an agreement that sees Nugent back at the club until the summer and he is now looking forward to repaying the Clarets' faith in him and to get the goals needed to remain in the top flight.
"I'm just glad that it's all sorted and I am a Burnley player to the end of the season and hopefully longer," Nugent told Clarets Player.
"I had a few things to discuss at the Portsmouth end and there was some stuff that went on I don't want to talk about but it's all done and I'm glad to be here now.
"It has been hard. I missed the last game because of it all."I got called back to Portsmouth, then got told to come back to Burnley but didn't make it in time.
"I missed the game because I had to sign by five o'clock that day, which didn't happen."It's been so confusing but I want to get my head down now and concentrate on playing for Burnley."I really want to get back in the side and start playing well again and score some goals and get Burnley away from the relegation zone."
