Burnley boss Eddie Howe was happy to take encouragement from Danny Ings' performance during Tuesday night's 3-1 defeat to Birmingham.

The 20-year-old forward has endured a frustrating debut season at Turf Moor after suffering a serious knee injury in training days after signing from Bournemouth.
However, Ings has recovered to start the last three matches, following up his first goal for the Clarets in last weekend's 5-1 triumph at Portsmouth with the equaliser against Blues. He also struck the crossbar and passed up the chance to set up a grandstand finish by blazing over in the closing stages.
"He's had chances but the pleasing thing is he's 20 years old and he's in the right positions," said Howe.
"I thought he was terrific on Tuesday night - really positive signs for him.
"He took his goal really well and I'm pleased he's done it at home now so the fans know he's a good player."
