Irish pair out of Vale cup clash

Burnley duo Martin Paterson and Danny Lafferty will miss the club's Capital One Cup clash with Port Vale after earning international call-ups.

Paterson, 25, and Lafferty, 24, have been called up to Michael O'Neill's Northern Ireland squad for the friendly against Finland in Belfast on Wednesday August 15.
Burnley will be without the pair as they travel to Vale Park in the first round of the cup the day before.
