Burnley boss Eddie Howe has urged Junior Stanislas to build on his impressive cameo against Birmingham on Tuesday night.

Stanislas has struggled for consistency since his move to Turf Moor from West Ham last summer, but was in electric form when he was summoned from the bench against Blues. The 22-year-old fashioned a host of chances before Danny Ings got the Clarets back to 1-1, only for a late rally to hand Chris Hughton's promotion-chasers a 3-1 victory. "Junior Stanislas was a real highlight for me, his performance was excellent," said Howe. "He needs now to find that consistency. "He's got all the ability in the world and he was direct against Birmingham, which is something we're trying to work with him on - taking people on and having that freedom to do that in the final third. "He put some great balls into the box and we think he can be a goal threat as well. He needs to add goals to his game. But, as a cameo it was very positive.
