Striker race on
Burnley, 14:08, June 17, 2010 ,
Burnley's hopes of landing Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard appear to be over after Fulham, Blackburn and West Ham entered the race.
Maynard has scored goals on a regular basis throughout his career and hit the back of the net 21 times in the Championship last season, which has led to all the interest in him.
Relegated Burnley have set the ball rolling with a £3.75m offer for the 23-year-old but that has been refused by City who are in no rush to sell as he still has two years left on his current contract at Ashton Gate.
Fulham boss Roy Hodgson is trying to add Maynard to his squad as he looks to build on the success of last season.
