Brewers sweating on defensive duo

Defenders Aaron Webster and Ryan Austin are major doubts for Burton's final away fixture of season against Macclesfield.

Webster and Austin have both picked up knee injuries in training this week. Caretaker manager Gary Rowett said: "It looks as though we are going to have to shuffle things around. Aaron twisted his knee after catching his toe in the ground and Ryan's knee swelled up after the session." Webster's absence in particular could pose a problem for Rowett because understudy Danny Blanchett was given a torrid time on his last outing during the 7-1 defeat at Bristol Rovers. Patrick Ada could get a recall, while Rowett will be hoping Nathan Stanton (head) and Tony James (hip) recover from the injuries they sustained against Aldershot last weekend. Midfielders Cleveland Taylor and Chris Palmer did their chances of a recall no harm by impressing for the reserves in midweek.
